Senior Backend Developer (.NET / C#)

Location: 100% Remote (Candidate must currently reside outside of Ukraine)

Working Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM CET

Salary: $3,000 – $3,500 / month

Experience Required: 6+ years of commercial experience

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer with 6+ years of commercial experience to design, build, and maintain high-performance microservices and event-driven systems. In this role, you will drive key architectural decisions, integrate AI/LLM capabilities, and utilize modern AI coding agents (such as Codex and Claude Code) to accelerate development velocity.

Core Requirements

• Location Eligibility: Must currently reside outside of Ukraine.

• Deep knowledge of C# / .NET and practical experience building production-ready backend applications.

• Strong knowledge of ASP.NET Core and experience building backend services with it.

• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining systems based on microservice architecture.

• Good understanding of principles of asynchronous and event-driven communication between services.

• Hands-on experience building asynchronous service-to-service communication using message brokers, with a solid understanding of queues, pub/sub, delivery semantics, retries, and idempotency.

• Experience designing and developing RESTful Web APIs, with a solid understanding of REST and HTTP.

• Experience developing and maintaining background services / workers, including background and asynchronous processing.

• Strong experience with relational databases: Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

• Good understanding of database design, indexing, transactions, and SQL query optimization.

• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.

• Significant experience integrating with external APIs and third-party services, including error handling, retries, timeouts, and fault-tolerance considerations.

• Experience integrating with AI/LLM providers and their APIs.

• Hands-on experience working with AI coding agents (e.g., Codex, Claude Code) in daily development workflows.

• Good understanding and practical application of SOLID principles.

• Understanding and practical experience with Clean Architecture, separation of concerns, and dependency inversion.

• Ability to design maintainable and extensible code with clear separation of responsibilities between components.

• Hands-on experience writing Unit Tests and Integration Tests.

• Understanding of common distributed systems challenges, including idempotency, eventual consistency, retries, race conditions, and fault tolerance.

• Experience diagnosing production issues and understanding core observability concepts: structured logging, metrics, and tracing.

• Ability to make technical and architectural decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and clearly justify the chosen approach.

• Experience performing code reviews and working with existing/legacy codebases.

Nice to Have

• Experience with NHibernate.

• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining Stored Procedures.

• Experience optimizing complex SQL queries and analyzing database performance.
