Lead Node.js Engineer

In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of cloud-native integration solutions for enterprise manufacturing systems. You'll work closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Site IT teams, and distributed engineering teams to build scalable, secure, and high-quality backend services on AWS.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll contribute to architecture, mentor engineers, perform design and code reviews, and help shape the technical direction of the platform.

What You'll Do

• Design scalable cloud-native backend architectures using Node.js and AWS.

• Lead the implementation of enterprise integration solutions based on microservices and event-driven architecture.

• Drive architectural decisions and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and best practices.

• Review solution designs, code, APIs, and technical documentation.

• Collaborate with Product Owners, architects, Site IT teams, and offshore development teams.

• Translate business and manufacturing integration requirements into reliable technical solutions.

• Guide engineering teams through implementation and technical challenges.

• Support project planning, effort estimation, and technical risk assessment.

• Ensure security, scalability, maintainability, and compliance across integration solutions.

• Act as the technical escalation point for complex architectural challenges.

Must-Have Skills !!!

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.

• Strong commercial experience with Node.js backend development.

• Proven experience leading engineering teams or acting as a Technical Lead.

• Deep understanding of backend architecture and software design principles.

• Strong AWS experience, including cloud-native services.

• Experience with:

• Microservices

• Event-driven architecture

• REST APIs

• Amazon SQS

• Serverless architectures

• Kubernetes

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).

• Experience designing secure, scalable, enterprise-grade applications.

• CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions or similar).

• Strong communication skills and experience working with distributed international teams.

• Fluent English.

• OT/IT integration knowledge.

• AWS IoT Greengrass.

• Linux administration.

• Experience working in regulated environments (GxP).

• Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences background.
