Senior/Lead Business Analyst
Description
At Jiris, we're on a mission to change how homecare agencies run their day-to-day work. Our platform covers everything from scheduling visits and verifying them in real time (EVV) to billing, payroll, and handling medical documentation. For coordinators in the office, we build powerful web tools. For caregivers in the field, we design simple, intuitive mobile apps. The result: agencies save time, communication becomes clearer, and patients get better care.
We're looking for a Senior/Lead Business Analyst to build and lead our BA function. You'll own the requirements process end-to-end — from raw, often ambiguous asks from real healthcare operators to clear, dev-ready specs — and become the person the rest of the BA team reports into. This role is as much about how you think through a problem as how you write it up: we need someone who can independently work through the state machines, dependencies, and trade-offs behind a messy operational request, land on a real solution, and teach the rest of the team to do the same. If you enjoy turning messy operational and compliance requirements into structured specs, and mentoring analysts who do the same, this role could be a great fit.
Requirements
- 6+ years of Business Analyst experience in IT, including direct work with international / US-based clients and stakeholders
- Proven ability to independently model complex business logic (state machines, transition matrices, entity and dependency mapping) and to propose and weigh multiple solution options rather than just document a single agreed approach
- Proven ownership of the full requirements lifecycle: discovery, elicitation, prioritization, spec writing, acceptance
- Experience building or scaling a BA function or process from scratch - defining how requests flow from intake to delivery
- Strong facilitation skills - running discovery workshops and prioritization sessions directly with business stakeholders
- Solid UML/BPMN or equivalent process and data modeling skills
- Strong technical understanding of APIs and distributed systems
- Experience mentoring or leading other analysts
- Strong English - able to run calls independently with US-based client leadership
Responsibilities
- Lead the BA team: mentor analysts and define the standards and process for how the team works.
- Define and run the end-to-end requirements process for a fast-growing product
- Run discovery and prioritization sessions directly with our anchor client's leadership team and other stakeholders
- Translate complex operational and compliance requirements into clear, dev-ready specifications
- Govern scope on active initiatives (track changes, flag conflicts, prevent scope creep)
- Partner directly with the founders/product lead on roadmap and prioritization decisions
- Continuously improve how the BA team works: process, documentation standards, tooling
Nice to Have
- Healthcare or health-tech domain background - home care, EVV, medical billing, or Medicaid systems
- Familiarity with HIPAA or other healthcare compliance/regulatory frameworks
- Experience in compliance-heavy domains where requirements are driven by external regulation, not just user preference
- Practical experience with AI-assisted or spec-driven development workflows (SDD, agentic engineering platforms)
