About the role:
We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to help build and scale the API infrastructure powering Chowdeck’s ecosystem - including customer, vendor, and rider applications.

You’ll work on high-load, real-time systems and collaborate closely with product, frontend, and design teams to deliver fast, reliable features in a dynamic startup environment.

• 6+ years of backend development experience

• Strong knowledge of Node.js, JavaScript, MySQL

• Experience with Redis and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP)

• Experience building scalable, high-load systems

• Strong focus on clean, maintainable, and testable code

• Good problem-solving skills and product thinking

• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Design, build, and maintain backend APIs and services

• Debug and resolve production issues across services

• Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability

• Collaborate with Product, Frontend, and UX teams

• Contribute to architecture decisions and technical improvements

• Identify and reduce technical debt (standards, tooling, processes)

• Experience with high-availability systems or distributed architecture

• Previous experience in fast-growing startups

• Mentoring or tech leadership exposure
